March 17 — UISEE Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xinjiang Airport (Group) Co., Ltd. to advance the application of autonomous driving in civil aviation and support the development of smart airports.

The signing was attended by Wu Gansha, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of UISEE, along with members of the company’s aviation business and technical teams. Tao Runwen, Chairman of Xinjiang Airport Group, and representatives from its airport and ground service subsidiaries were also present.

Under the agreement, the two sides will focus on integrating L4 autonomous driving technologies into airport operations, in line with Xinjiang’s role as a core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt. The partnership aims to support smart airport development and contribute to the “Air Silk Road.”

Xinjiang Airport Group, established in 2004, operates 27 civil transport airports and 2 general aviation airports across the region. Its network is centered on Urumqi, with Kashgar and Yining as key gateways and several regional airports supporting coordinated development.

UISEE, founded in 2016, develops L4 autonomous driving systems for both closed and open-road environments, with experience in large-scale commercial deployment across multiple sectors, including aviation.

At Urumqi Tianshan International Airport, UISEE has already deployed the largest airside autonomous vehicle fleet in mainland China. Since the opening of the new North Terminal area in 2025, more than 40 autonomous baggage tractors have been in regular operation, covering cargo and baggage transport.

To date, the fleet has logged nearly 800,000 kilometers of autonomous driving, with 180,000 hours of operation and more than 500,000 cargo units handled. During the recent Spring Festival travel period, it recorded over 93,000 kilometers and 16,000 hours of operation, completing more than 4,000 baggage transport trips.

The new agreement will expand cooperation in autonomous driving applications, technology development, and market rollout in the aviation sector. Both sides aim to improve operational efficiency and safety and support further deployment of unmanned vehicles in airport scenarios.

After the signing, Wu Gansha visited on-site teams and discussed the use of autonomous systems in daily operations with ground staff.
