From Cargo Transport to Passenger Mobility, UISEE Launches Autonomous Shuttle Bus Operations at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport
In March this year, UISEE (Beijing) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xinjiang Airport (Group) Co., Ltd. Under this agreement, both parties will work together to promote the deployment and market expansion of autonomous vehicles in civil aviation scenarios, establish a close and stable partnership, share resources, leverage complementary advantages, and facilitate the extension and development of their businesses and products, achieving measurable and sustainable outcomes.

Since the strategic cooperation was launched, significant progress has been made. The autonomous shuttle bus has officially entered service, marking a milestone in the airport’s smart passenger mobility construction and representing a breakthrough for UISEE at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport—from unmanned cargo and luggage transport to passenger shuttle services.
The project has deployed 20 autonomous shuttle buses and 13 transfer stations, covering key areas such as office zones, road crossings, aprons, and VIP lounges. Currently, the system mainly handles employee commuting, with plans to expand to crew transfers, VIP transportation, and passenger shuttle services in the future. Next steps include implementing automated charging, intelligent dispatch across all areas, and exploring 24-hour fully autonomous operations, further enhancing the airport’s intelligence level.
Since the launch of UISEE’s first fleet of autonomous electric tractors at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport, more than 60 autonomous electric tractors and shuttle buses have accumulated over 1 million kilometers of autonomous operation within the airport. Operating hours, cargo, and luggage transport volumes have all increased significantly, continuously validating the stability and reliability of UISEE’s full-scenario autonomous driving technology in complex civil aviation environments.
Recently, based on the excellent operational performance and technical reliability of the autonomous electric tractors and shuttle buses, UISEE successfully won a new order from Xinjiang Airport (Group) Co., Ltd. for 10 autonomous shuttle buses and 6 autonomous delivery vehicles, which will further expand the coverage of autonomous services at the airport and optimize the intelligent ground transport network.
